Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) is pleased to announce that Olga Kary, Alexis Levine and Kevin Rusli have been honoured as Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 for 2019.
Located in our Calgary office, Olga is a Partner in our Capital Markets group specializing in corporate and securities matters, particularly in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance and continuous disclosure compliance. Olga has experience in representing both private and publicly traded issuers listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. In addition to her practice, Olga serves on the steering committee of the Women in Capital Markets and teaches securities laws at the University of Calgary Law School.
Alexis, a Partner in our Financial Services group in Toronto, focuses primarily on syndicated debt and structured financing, acting for both domestic and international financiers and debtors. He is also the co-ordinator of the Firm's Government & Public Sector group and advises on public law, political law and lobbying matters. In addition to his practice, Alexis has served on the Toronto Area Committee of Legal Aid Ontario for 15 years and as an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Kevin is a Partner in our Capital Markets group in Toronto with a focus on Investment Products & Asset Management, Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity, and specializes in a variety of disruptive and emerging industries. He has extensive experience in advising clients on developing conventional and non-conventional ways to build out their private equity and asset management platforms. In addition to his practice, Kevin is a board member of Magicana, a registered charity that instills confidence in underprivileged youth and supports Sick Kids and elderly by conducting magic courses.
The awards are presented to lawyers from law firms and in-house counsel, aged 40 or under, who are up-and-coming in the Canadian legal community. Lexpert selects the finalists based on a number of criteria and an advisory board votes on the winning candidates.
