Vivian is the lead of the Blakes Power group in Toronto. She has been an instrumental team member on numerous high-profile infrastructure projects across Canada. Her representative M&A transactions reflect her ability to deftly pivot among sectors. Vivian actively supports the Learning Disabilities Association of York Region, Habitat for Humanity Canada and the Evergreen Environmental Foundation. She is also an activator with SheEO, a Toronto-based non-profit aimed at supporting, financing and celebrating female entrepreneurship and innovation.
Jason's practice focuses primarily on secured lending and structured finance transactions, with a particular emphasis on aviation, project finance, infrastructure and defence. He has been recognized as one of the leading aviation lawyers in Canada. Jason is a trusted advisor to a broad range of clients whom he routinely advises on complex aviation regulatory matters, including foreign investment in Canadian airlines, Transport Canada audits and airport privatization matters. Jason also spearheads the Firm’s pro bono initiative for Space Place, an educational non-profit in Toronto, and is involved in a number of LGBTQ+ organizations, including Pride@Blakes.
The annual Rising Stars Awards are presented to lawyers from law firms and in-house counsel, aged 40 or under, who are up-and-coming in the Canadian legal community. Lexpert selects the finalists based on a number of criteria. An advisory board votes on the winning candidates.
