Blakes is pleased to announce that we are celebrating an incredible milestone — the 10th anniversary of our women’s networking events for clients. This year’s event was held on Wednesday, May 31 at the historical Arcadian Court in downtown Toronto.
“Ten years ago, we embarked on an extraordinary journey to connect and empower women in business and law,” said Alison Jeffrey, Senior Adviser, Strategic Initiatives & Client Development Coaching. “Our 10th anniversary celebration is the pinnacle of the success of our women’s events, creating a moment in time that inspired hope, determination, joy and fellowship.”
To mark the special occasion, we invited Carla Harris, accomplished corporate leader, author and soulful singer, to share her signature “pearls” of wisdom on leadership and down-to-earth career strategies. Carla is a powerhouse and prolific motivational speaker. As many who have seen her on stage can attest, the energy she exudes is palpable and inspiring. In addition to her numerous speaking engagements, Carla is Vice Chairman of Wealth Management, Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley, and the author of Expect to Win and Strategize to Win. She is also a celebrated singer who has performed four sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall and released several albums.

Our first women’s event was held in 2008, the year we formally established our Women@Blakes network to further enhance business, professional and recruiting opportunities for women both within and outside the Firm. Since then, our event has grown to include our Calgary and Montréal offices.
