Brenda Doig Joins Blakes to Oversee Women’s Programming and Initiatives

An experienced legal executive and inclusive leader, Brenda will work with Firm leadership to advance Women@Blakes programming. 


Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) is pleased to announce that Brenda Doig has joined the Firm to oversee our programs and initiatives that support and empower women, both at Blakes and among our clients. Working with our senior leadership, Brenda will advance our Women@Blakes programming, which provides leadership development, mentorship and community-building opportunities.

Brenda brings broad, extensive experience to this role, having practised law for over 25 years, both as an in-house legal executive and in private practice, most recently as General Counsel at CPA Canada. She has strong connections across the women general counsel community and has been deeply involved in both the general counsel and board communities in Canada.

Brenda will be working closely with Blakes Senior Advisor Alison Jeffrey to ensure the seamless transition of the Women@Blakes programming, which has grown under Alison’s passionate leadership for many years. 

In-House, Private Practice and Board Experience

Brenda’s in-house experience spans a diverse array of entities, including professional services, financial services and regulatory organizations. She began her career practising litigation at a large national business law firm. Brenda holds a GCU.D from Women’s General Counsel University and a GPC.D from the Governance Professionals of Canada. 

Throughout her career, Brenda has been an active contributor to both her community and the legal profession as a volunteer, mentor and board member. She currently sits on the boards and governance committees of two non-profit organizations.
