We are pleased to announce that Blakes has once again been selected as a leading employer in the GTA by Mediacorp Canada Inc. We are the only law firm to have won this award 10 times, including from 2007 to 2012 and 2015 to 2017.

The Greater Toronto’s Top Employers award was presented to winners at a special luncheon at the OMNI King Edward Hotel in Toronto on Friday, December 8. The winners are also featured in a special magazinepublished in The Globe and Mail and at ct100.ca/gta.
We are proud and honoured to win this award again,” said Mary Jackson, Chief Officer, Professional Resources, at Blakes. “We value our people and are committed to a workplace that is inclusive and provides opportunities for everyone to grow and succeed.”

"The GTA has always attracted the best and brightest from across the country," said Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project, which manages the GTA competition. "Metropolitan Toronto has long attracted large numbers of educated and talented young people from the rest of Canada. But today the GTA is a beacon for talented people from around the world — and employers in this region now lead the nation when it comes to offering progressive HR policies and initiatives that reflect such a varied and diverse population."

Now in its 12th year, the award recognizes employers based on the following Reasons for Selection: (1) physical workplace; (2) work and social atmosphere; (3) health, financial and family benefits; (4) vacation and time off; (5) employee communications; (6) performance management; (7) training and skills development; and (8) community involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
