Canadian private M&A continued at a solid pace in 2019, owing in large part to acquisitions by non-Canadian financial and strategic buyers. Stability in Canada’s financial and governance systems as well as solid growth in the tech sector are likely factors. While Canadian M&A takes many cues from the United States and Europe, it is unique in many ways.
