Blakes Women in Leadership Series: When Leaders Become Coaches

October 8, 2024 - 1:00 PM - 2:10 PM
We live in a world of flux. Successful executives must increasingly supplement their industry and functional expertise with a general capacity for learning — and they must develop that capacity in the people they supervise.
Herminia Ibarra and Anne Scoular

In a rapidly evolving world where disruption is the new norm, leaders cannot be expected to have all the answers. Many companies are embracing a cultural transformation as they shift from a traditional “command-and-control” leadership model to a “coaching” one, empowering managers to facilitate problem-solving by asking questions and offering support to employees rather than giving instructions and making judgements.

Moderated by Blakes Partner Megan Shaw, this webinar will feature keynote speaker Anne Scoular, who is world-renowned at training senior leaders to coach. In this discussion, we will explore the different types of coaching and, through real-world examples, demonstrate how leaders can become more adept at listening, questioning and drawing insights out of the people they manage. We will also examine the key elements of “The Leader as Coach” paradigm and its value to individuals and organizations.
