Catering Services Assistant (14-Month Contract)

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s largest and most successful law firms, is seeking a Catering Services Assistant to join our Catering Services Department in the Toronto office. This position is a 14-month contract. 

The Catering Services Assistant will be responsible for servicing events within the Firm including serving, bartending and/or bussing meetings, sit-down meals and/or buffet meals, responding to conference food and beverage requests throughout the Firm and setting up meeting rooms with catering requests.  The Catering Services Assistant will report directly to the Supervisor, Catering and work closely with the catering team to ensure that the highest standards of service and professionalism are offered at all times to internal and external guests/clients.  

The ideal candidate should have banquet and/or catering experience in a fast-paced environment, be personable and service oriented. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are imperative to be successful in this position, as well as the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with Firm members and colleagues.    

This position will require the Catering Services Assistant to cover shifts that rotate from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). Candidates will need to have flexible schedules and should expect to work varying shifts (day and/or evenings) when the demand of the Catering Services Department requires it.
