  • Successfully defending an Alberta pipeline company from an application by a First Nation to stay regulatory proceedings

  • Counsel to an Alberta pipeline company in the Court of Appeal of Alberta in its successful defence of a challenge to the license authorizing its construction and operation of two pipelines

  • Acting for an Alberta utility regarding Power Purchase Arrangement disputes

  • Acting for two Alberta energy companies in claims arising from unplanned refinery outages

  • Defending an Alberta pipeline company from claims related to the construction of a pipeline crossing

  • Representing a Canadian energy company and its insurers with respect to a pipeline failure and spill in Manitoba

  • Successfully defending a not-for-profit director against allegations of breach of fiduciary duty

  • Acting for a franchisor regarding the breach of a franchise agreement and theft of intellectual property by a former franchisee, including securing injunctive relief against the former franchisee

  • Successfully representing an energy company in a C$65-million expedited arbitration that progressed from notice of arbitration to final award within 2.5 months
