About Sayjon

Sayjon's practice focuses on commercial lending transactions, domestic and cross-border debt financing transactions, asset-based lending and acquisition-financing transactions in the financial services industry. He has experience representing lenders and borrowers in both secured and unsecured financing transactions (bilateral and syndicated loan structures).

Sayjon has advised lenders and borrowers in various industry sectors, including mining, finance and insurance, real estate financing and transportation.

Sayjon joined Blakes as a first-year summer law student in 2018 and completed his articles with the Firm in 2020/2021.

Select Experience

Recent representative matters that Sayjon has worked on include advising:

  • Financing parties in providing asset-based financing in respect of Sycamore Partners' acquisition of RONA Inc. from Lowe's Companies Inc.

  • A real estate development fund in the regular refinancings of assets in secondary markets with various lenders

  • goeasy Ltd. regarding a C$270-million credit facility with a syndicate of lenders

  • A leading Canadian company on an asset-based financing of a toll bridge

Awards & Recognition

Sayjon was named one of York University's Top 30 Alumni Under 30 for 2022. The award recognizes "leaders who are creating positive change and working to right the future in varied and significant ways."
