About Paul

Paul's practice focuses on corporate and commercial law. He assists clients with a variety of business law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity transactions and corporate reorganizations. Paul acts for clients in a wide range of industries including technology, retail, natural resources and life sciences.

Prior to law school, Paul worked on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans.

  • The shareholders of Pacific Energy Fireplace Products Ltd. on its sale to the NIBE Group

  • JX Nippon Mining & Metals on its acquisition of eCycle Solutions

  • New Water Capital on its acquisition of Bagwell Supply Ltd., a designer, developer and distributor of flexible intermediate bulk containers and complementary packaging products

  • enGene Inc. on its going public transaction through a merger with a SPAC, Forbion European Acquistion Corp., in a deal with total gross proceeds of approximately US$138-million

  • D-Wave Systems Inc. on its going public transaction through a merger with a SPAC, DPCM Capital, Inc., in a deal with an implied value of US$1.2-billion

  • A US private equity fund on its acquisitions of multiple suppliers and manufacturers of wood processing equipment, aftermarket parts and consumables in the wood products industry

  • A US private equity fund and its portfolio company in connection with its acquisition of a leading distributor of HVAC equipment, parts and supplies

  • Later.com on its acquisition by Mavrck, in a deal funded by Summit Partners

  • Organic Ocean Seafood on a variety of corporate and financing matters

  • TricorBraun on its add-on acquisitions of Vetroelite and Merlot Packaging

  • Two biotechnology companies on various corporate matters
