About Benjamin

Ben is developing a broad civil litigation and dispute resolution practice. He has experience in complex contractual disputes, judicial reviews, international and commercial arbitration, and Aboriginal rights and title claims. Ben has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and has assisted with matters before the British Columbia Court of Appeal and various arbitral tribunals.

Ben joined Blakes as a summer student in 2024 and completed his articles with the Firm in 2026.

Ben’s recent experience includes acting for:

  • A U.S. private equity investor in a CAM Santiago international arbitration over interests in a Chilean mining property

  • A project proponent in a VanIAC arbitration regarding the enforcement of a Project Support Agreement with an Indigenous Nation

  • A First Nation appealing a judgment recognizing title and fishing rights of another First Nation

  • A global marketing, logistics and distribution company defending claims of breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty in a dispute involving the international delivery of chemical elements
