About Blessing

Blessing’s practice centres on energy regulation across sectors such as renewable power generation, electrical transmission and distribution, midstream oil and gas, and environmental matters. She has experience supporting clients in various regulatory and environmental issues, including the review and submission of regulatory and environmental approvals, managing transaction due diligence, and advising on compliance and environmental assessment procedures.

Blessing has assisted clients in matters before the Alberta Utilities Commission, Canada Energy Regulator, Alberta Energy Regulator, and the Land and Property Rights Tribunal.

Prior to joining Blakes, Blessing practised law as an associate at a tier 1 firm in Nigeria. She also worked as a short-term temporary consultant at an international financial institution based in Washington, D.C., in its legal department.

Representative matters in which Blessing has been involved include:

  • Assisting in advising clients with respect to the submission of renewable energy facility applications to the Alberta Utilities Commission

  • Assisting in advising clients with respect to export licenses and renewals before the Canada Energy Regulator

  • Assisting clients in review and variance applications before the Alberta Utilities Commission and Canada Energy Regulator

  • Assisting in representing clients at hearings before the Alberta Utilities Commission

Blessing is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, the Canadian Bar Association and the Nigerian Bar Association.
