Laura is an experienced advocate, appearing as lead counsel at all levels of court in Canada, as well as before arbitral and administrative tribunals. She has extensive experience litigating and arbitrating disputes in the food, beverage and agribusiness, energy, mining, construction, cannabis, hospitality, retail, and infrastructure sectors.
Laura is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and has particular expertise in the arbitration of complex domestic and international disputes. She is a director of both the Canada Branch and the Vancouver Chapter of the Canadian Branch of the CIArb as well as the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre (VanIAC). She is an invited member of the Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society (WCCAS) and a director of the inaugural board of CanArbWeek. Laura is also a member of the Advocates’ Society’s British Columbia Regional Advisory Committee.
Laura is a member of the firm’s COVID-19 litigation team, and has experience advising clients on contract suspensions and terminations as well as alternative dispute resolution in connection with the current crisis.
