Recent representative commercial litigation matters include being counsel for:

  • Mowi Canada West in obtaining a Federal Court injunction in respect of the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans' decision to end transfers of fish into two licensed aquaculture facilities in coastal British Columbia

  • Mowi Canada West in a judicial review before the Federal Court of the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans' decision to prohibit acquaculture licence renewals in the Discovery Islands region of British Columbia

  • A public body in an arbitration dispute involving claims for delay, disruption and breach of contract in connection with the construction of significant energy infrastructure

  • A public body in an arbitration dispute regarding the operation of public infrastructure

  • A multinational pharmaceutical corporation in a class action involving statutory causes of action, tort claims, and constitutional law

  • A multinational industrial manufacturing corporation in a class action involving statutory causes of action, tort claims, and conflicts of law

  • A significant B.C. employer in discriminations claims under the B.C. Human Rights Code

  • A leading Canadian mental health charity with respect to intellectual property

Professional Activities

Brady is an adjunct professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He has also been a guest lecturer in international trade law and a moot coach for UBC's Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team.

Brady frequently publishes in his areas of expertise, including publishing a book on European constitutional law for Cambridge University Press. He has also written articles on international topics for leading academic journals, including the European Law Review and the European Investment Law and Arbitration Review.
