About Gavin
Gavin returns to Blakes as an Articling Student after summering with the Firm in 2024. He received his JD from Queen's University.
In his final year of studies, Gavin was captain of the Queen's Law Hockey Team. He received the Chief Justice McRuer Essay Prize in Constitutional Law and the Heenan Blaikie LLP Scholarship for legal writing and written advocacy, and was named to the 2024-2025 Dean's Honour List.
Prior to law school, Gavin earned a bachelor of arts degree with combined honours in political science and criminal justice & public policy from the University of Guelph, and a master of arts degree in criminology & criminal justice policy from the University of Guelph.
