About Michael
Mike's practice covers all aspects of pensions, benefits and executive compensation law, including plan administration, investment, taxation, governance and design. Mike has experience working with sponsors and administrators of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans for unionized and non-unionized employees on a wide range of matters including plan design, administration, compliance, funding and governance matters.
Mike regularly advises public and private companies on the design, drafting and implementation of equity-based compensation arrangements, including stock option plans, restricted share unit plans, deferred share unit plans and profits interest plans.
Mike also advises pension funds and other institutional investors on fund investments, direct investments and co-investments. In 2023, Mike completed a secondment within the fund management group of a leading power generation company which is responsible for the investment of a large pension fund. He advised the private markets, public markets, and real estate investment teams on investment structures, cross-border taxation, and the pension regulatory issues that arise in connection with investments.
