About Hugh
Hugh is an Articling Student in the Securities group. He returns to Blakes after first joining the Firm in 2024 as a summer student.
Hugh obtained his juris doctor from the University of Calgary. During his studies, he worked as a teaching assistant for first year students in the foundations of law course and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada. He was a member of the Law Student Ambassadors and a founding member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Club. Hugh was recognized on the Dean's List during all three years of law school.
Prior to law school, he graduated from Carleton University with a bachelor of arts degree and worked in the corporate development department of a public infrastructure and utility company in Calgary.
