About Husayn
Husayn maintains a broad civil litigation and dispute resolution practice in both English and French. They have experience in class actions, defamation, environmental and regulatory, administrative law, and Aboriginal law matters. Husayn joined Blakes as an Associate from a leading national firm in Vancouver after clerking at the Federal Court. They have a particular affinity for legal research and writing.
During their clerkship, Husayn assisted their judge with a multi-week intellectual property trial and a range of judicial reviews. Husayn also assisted on a federal drip pricing class action under the Competition Act. They continue to apply the analytical rigour developed during their clerkship to deliver clear, effective solutions for clients across a range of disputes.
Husayn also maintains a pro bono practice. They help individuals respond to the non‑consensual distribution of intimate images, including working to remove such content from websites and online platforms under British Columbia's Intimate Images Protection Act.
