About Chi

Chi practises corporate and commercial law with a focus on mergers, acquisitions, divestures, energy and environmental matters. She has been involved in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, purchase and sale transactions, joint ventures and commercial arrangements, and corporate reorganizations.

Chi also has experience advising clients on general corporate and commercial matters and energy and environmental regulatory compliance. She has assisted on regulatory hearings before the Alberta Utilities Commission.

Prior to joining Blakes, Chi was an associate at an international law firm in Calgary. She also practised as a lawyer with one of Nigeria's oldest law firms prior to immigrating to Canada in 2013.

Professional Activities

Chi serves on the boards of Alberta University of Arts and Antyx Community Arts, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to engaging and empowering youth through the arts. Chi is also the co-founder and vice-president of Calgary Black Chambers, a not-for-profit organization made up of Black professionals and entrepreneurs that provides mentorship, scholarship, fellowship and advocacy for Black students and professionals.

She also provides pro bono legal services through Pro Bono Law Alberta and mentors internationally trained lawyers through the Calgary Regional Immigrant Employment Council.
