About Mary

Mary is responsible for the management, recruitment, professional development and training of legal professionals and staff. She is very involved in the Firm's pro bono, diversity and equity, and women's initiatives, and works on other major projects for the Firm.

Prior to joining Blakes in 1999, Mary practised civil litigation for six years at a large firm in Toronto. She was a law clerk to Madam Justice McLachlin at the Supreme Court of Canada from 1992 to 1993.

Professional Activities

From 1985 to 1992, Mary was a lecturer at a number of different educational institutions, including Ryerson Polytechnic University and the University of Windsor.
