About John

John's practice focuses on regulatory compliance, as well as commercial matters in the technology and communications industries.

John helps telecommunications, satellite and broadcasting companies navigate Canada's regulatory framework, notably interacting with regulatory authorities regarding policy proceedings, licensing matters, ongoing filings and equipment certifications.

As part of his privacy data protection practice, John helps clients with a variety of data governance matters, including drafting privacy policies and data protection agreements, reviewing data retention practices, and responding to data subject requests.  He also assists clients in preparing for and responding to cybersecurity incidents.

John also advises clients in the context of commercial agreements and corporate transactions, and regularly provides guidance on regulatory requirements in a variety of fields, including in relation to life sciences, consumer protection and accessibility matters.

He is fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of Spanish.

John is the president and director of the Clinique juridique des artistes de Montréal, a non-profit organization devoted to providing free legal information to Montréal’s artist communities.
