About Karina

Karina is an Articling Student in the Capital Markets (Securities) group. She returns to Blakes after first joining the Firm in 2025 as a summer student.

Karina completed her juris doctor at Queen's University. During her studies, she acted as team lead for two projects with Pro Bono Students Canada. In her second year of law school, Karina participated in the Queen's Business Law Clinic as a student caseworker, where she engaged with small businesses in Kingston and surrounding areas. In her final year of law school, Karina studied abroad at Trinity College in Dublin in the fall semester.

Other notable experiences include acting as a volunteer for the Queen's Law Journal and an executive member of the Queen's Women in Law club. Prior to attending law school, Karina graduated from Queen's University with an honours bachelor of arts degree in political science and French.

Prior to joining the Firm, Karina worked at a legal-tech startup where she gained experience across various roles, including acting as a legal clerk, project manager, and research analyst for the business development team.
