Kyle is responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to promote the Firm's internal diversity and inclusion strategy and initiatives.
In this role, Kyle leads the Firm's diversity and inclusion outreach initiatives that are designed to attract students from diverse backgrounds to the practice of business law. As a result of his experience and impact, he is often called upon by our clients to offer insights and feedback on their efforts to build inclusive workplaces.
Before taking on his current role, Kyle was a Staff Lawyer in the Blakes inSource group and completed a secondment with one of the Firm's telecommunications clients. Prior to that, he summered and articled at another large firm in Toronto.
Kyle is an active member of the legal community. He is president of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers and has served on its board since 2017. He is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario's Equity Advisory Group, which provides advice to the Law Society on issues affecting diverse communities in the legal profession.
Kyle sits on the DEI Standing Committee of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), an association of legal career professionals who advise law students, lawyers, law offices and law schools in North America and beyond. He is also the DEI Liaison for NALP's Canadian Section.
During his time at Osgoode Hall Law School, Kyle was the president of the Black Law Students' Association before serving as the national articling representative for the Black Law Students' Association of Canada.
