About Isaias

Isaias maintains a broad civil and commercial litigation practice. He has experience in complex tort and contractual disputes, investigations, securities litigation, shareholder disputes, class actions, and commercial arbitration. Isaias also has experience in the litigation aspects of transactional law, including court approved plans of arrangements and corporate reorganizations. He has appeared as counsel before all levels of court in British Columbia and has assisted on matters before various arbitral tribunals.

Isaias joined Blakes as a summer student in 2021 and completed his articles with the Firm in 2022.

  • Arbitration counsel to an owner defending a C$800-million ICC arbitration claim regarding construction of energy infrastructure

  • Trial counsel for a commercial trucking sales and repair company in an action alleging negligence and workmanship defects

  • Advising the CEO of a publicly traded company in a complex corporate governance dispute
