Brendan specializes in complex commercial disputes and advising clients about public law matters. He has experience in a variety of areas, including appellate litigation, arbitration, insurance, administrative law, intellectual property litigation, constitutional law, oil and gas litigation, and aboriginal law. Brendan has appeared before the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the Federal Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Brendan also teaches Administrative Law at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law.
He completed his J.D. at the University of Toronto, where he was elected President of the Students' Law Society. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Cecil A. Wright Dean's Key and the James B. Milner Bronze Medal.
Brendan was a Summer Student at Blakes in 2012 and 2013 at the Firm's Toronto office. Before returning to the Firm in Calgary, he clerked for the judges of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and then for the Honourable Justice Andromache Karakatsanis of the Supreme Court of Canada.
