About Maria
Maria’s practice focuses on Aboriginal, environmental and regulatory law matters.
Maria provides strategic advice to clients regarding risk management and compliance in the development of large projects. She represents clients in litigation regarding Aboriginal rights and title and on judicial review, and assists clients in negotiating agreements with Indigenous communities and navigating complex regulatory regimes such as environmental assessments. She has experience advising on project permitting and consultation, and has appeared before various administrative bodies and tribunals. Maria has broad experience across various industries, including the natural resource, utility, midstream and mining sectors.
Before moving to British Columbia, she practiced in Calgary at an international law firm. She has also had the opportunity to gain practical risk management knowledge while working at a Vancouver-based consulting firm.
