About Nick
Nick returns to Blakes as an Articled Student after summering with the Firm in 2023. He received his JD through the dual JD/political science program at the University of Ottawa.
During his studies, Nick served as a judicial intern for various justices at the Ontario Court of Justice and worked at the Department of Justice in Ottawa. He also co-authored a comparative research report on African investor-state arbitration regimes with the TradeLab International Economic Law Clinic.
In his cohort's first-year moot competition, Nick was awarded best factum and second-best oralist. In his second year, he won a regional negotiation competition and competed in the Canadian National Negotiation Competition. He was also a finalist in the Michel Bastarache Moot Court Competition and received the first-place prize for best factum. In his third year, Nick competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition where his team earned multiple awards for written advocacy.
Nick is fluent in English and French.
