About Olivia

Olivia is a member of the Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment group at Blakes, recently named Regional Firm of the Year – Americas by the Global Competition Review.

Olivia advises on all aspects of competition law, including merger review, abuse of dominance, joint ventures and strategic alliances, criminal and civil litigation, marketing and distribution practices, cartel investigations and regulatory compliance. She also advises on foreign investment merger review under the Investment Canada Act.

Prior to joining Blakes, Olivia summered, articled and practiced competition, antitrust, and foreign investment law in the Toronto office of a full-service firm.

  • Northview Fund on its recapitalization transaction that included the acquisition of three multi-family property portfolios for C$742-million and its conversion into Northview Residential REIT, a C$2.7-billion, internally managed, traditional open-ended real estate investment trust focused on national multi-family properties

  • Royal Bank of Canada on its C$13.5-billion acquisition of HSBC Bank Canada

Professional Activities

Olivia serves as a chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Canadian Bar Association's Competition Law and Foreign Investment Review Section and as a young lawyer representative on the Foreign Investment and National Security Committee of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Law Section.
