About Patrick

Patrick primarily practises in the area of private company mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. Patrick routinely acts for domestic and international clients in a broad range of industries including technology, financial services, retail, adventure tourism, light industrial, film, professional services, health care and agriculture. Patrick is also a trusted advisor for his clients' other corporate and commercial needs, routinely advising on matters including corporate reorganizations, commercial agreements, outsourcings, financings and private fund formation.

Prior to joining Blakes, Patrick practised as a lawyer in the corporate and commercial group at a firm in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Before attending law school, he worked in a number of positions in the private and government sectors.

Professional Activities

Patrick participates in several Firm committees and contributes to the Firm's Canadian Private Equity Deal Study.

He speaks regularly at business law events for groups including the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and the Vancouver M&A Club.

Patrick has also provided advice to a number of not-for-profit and charitable organizations on a pro bono basis, including the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Alliance Francaise Vancouver. He is an active member of the British Columbia chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and has served as a member (including as co-chairperson) of the organizing committee for their Middle Market Growth Conference and WestConnect Middle Market Growth Conference.
