Construction Litigation and Arbitration

  • Acting for an international oil and gas services company in a construction arbitration related to project delays and rate disputes

  • Acting for a Canadian energy company in a multi-party construction dispute related to a pipeline failure in Manitoba

  • Advising oil and gas facility owners and contractors about cost overrun, acceleration, lost productivity, and delay issues in construction project disputes

  • Successfully appearing before the Court of Appeal of Alberta to defend an appeal related to limitation period and surety bond issues (reported decision at HOOPP Realty Inc v Guarantee Company of North America, 2019 ABCA 443, leave to appeal to SCC refused, 2020 CanLII 27699 (SCC))

  • Acting for clients in construction disputes related to project agreements, bonds, guarantees, lien claims, and the recovery of materials and equipment

Energy Litigation and Arbitration

  • Acting for a large energy company in commercial arbitrations related to the operation of natural gas facilities

  • Representing a large energy company in court and regulatory proceedings related to contaminated site liability and environmental remediation

  • Acting for international energy companies in litigation related to the licensing and use of seismic data

  • Acting for energy companies in contract disputes related to land purchase and sale agreements and commercial lease agreements

Professional Activities

Lindsay is a co-chair of the Blakes Student Committee in Calgary. She is also a member of The Advocates’ Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Calgary Bar Association.

Lindsay volunteers with the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta Amicus Program where she provides pro bono legal advice to unrepresented litigants.
