About Sophia

Sophia maintains a hybrid practice that encompasses commercial litigation as well as anti-bribery, corruption and business crime matters. As a member of the Business Crimes, Investigations & Compliance group, she advises on matters involving anti-bribery and corruption, including the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act and related provisions of the Criminal Code concerning fraud, bribery and corruption.

In her practice, Sophia assists clients with a variety of matters, including internal risk assessments, anti-corruption advisory for transactions, and general commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

As an articling student, Sophia was seconded to the legal group at a leading Canadian energy company.

Professional Activities

Sophia is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association and The Advocates’ Society. She volunteers her time providing pro bono legal services to the public through the King’s Bench Amicus and Civil Claims Duty Counsel projects. Sophia also volunteers at the Trans ID Clinic, where she provides legal services to assist trans individuals in updating their name and gender markers on government-issued identification.
