About Stephanie

Stephanie is an accomplished intellectual property litigator in the pharmaceutical, medical device and life sciences industries. Stephanie is known for her proactive and detail-oriented approach tailored to her clients’ specific needs. Stephanie previously worked at a well-known litigation boutique where she gained extensive trial and appellate experience representing clients before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal.

Stephanie has extensive experience with proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, including patent disputes related to innovative medicines, formulations and dosage forms. She has extensive experience in patent infringement damages quantification and accounting of profits analyses. She also has helped coordinate global litigation strategy related to the Canadian aspects of multi-jurisdictional lawsuits.

  • A pharmaceutical client in patent litigation involving a type 2 diabetes therapy drug

  • A pharmaceutical client in patent litigation involving a prostate cancer therapy drug 

  • A pharmaceutical client in damages quantification involving sales of abiraterone acetate, the first series of cases under section 8 of the amended PM(NOC) Regulations

  • A pharmaceutical client in patent litigation (including damages quantification) involving a medical device against a life sciences venture capital firm, a landmark case on the doctrine of overbreadth in Canada

  • A pharmaceutical client in patent litigation involving an ADHD medication

  • A pharmaceutical client in damages quantification involving an antibiotic

  • A pharmaceutical client in patent litigation involving an oral contraceptive
