About Thomas

Tom has a broad civil litigation and dispute resolution practice. He has experience with complex commercial matters involving tort and contract disputes, shareholder claims, class actions and regulatory proceedings. He has assisted on matters before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and various arbitral tribunals.

Tom joined Blakes as a summer student in 2021 and completed his articles with the Firm in 2023. He received his JD from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, with specialization certificates in business law and criminal justice.

A cybersecurity company opposing a petition brought by a former shareholder seeking oppression remedies
A municipality in defending a C$14-million contractual claim brought by a contractor involved in the construction of a transit line
A private equity firm in arbitration and litigation proceedings brought against a former chief executive officer for breach of contract, breach of confidence and breach of fiduciary duties
