Dirk practises in all areas of tax law with a focus on domestic and international corporate taxation matters. He advises on corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and financings involving private and public corporations.
Dirk also has experience in tax controversy matters as well as advising charities and other not-for-profit organizations.
Dirk received his J.D. from the University of British Columbia after completing his first year of studies at the University of Alberta. During this time, Dirk was selected to receive The Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP Scholarship; The Dr. Alexander Smith, QC Prize in the Subject of Contract; The Ken Boyd Prize; the DLA Piper (Canada) LLP Prize in Corporate Law; and the Barbara Bluman Memorial Prize in Dispute Resolution. He also holds a bachelor of business administration in finance from Simon Fraser University and graduated with distinction.
