Laurie advises clients on the protection of intellectual property. She has expertise in the drafting and prosecution of patents, trademarks and industrial designs. Her practice includes counselling on intellectual property portfolio management and filing strategy as well as providing opinions relating to patentability, infringement and validity.

Laurie's practice focuses on the mechanical, electrical and systems fields with a particular interest in biomechanical and biomedical devices. She has advised clients of all sizes, from large companies to independent inventors.

Prior to joining Blakes, Laurie worked as a patent and trademark agent at a boutique intellectual property firm.
