Tom practises in the area of corporate/commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution. He has experience in a variety of areas, including construction, real estate and commercial leasing, contractual disputes, securities litigation, tax litigation and other civil litigation and arbitration matters.
Tom has represented clients before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Supreme Court of Yukon, and ad hoc arbitration panels operating under UNCITRAL and BCIAC Rules.
Tom is an active participant in pro bono initiatives. He co-organizes the Firm's participation in and regularly attends Pro Bono Law Alberta's Queen's Bench Amicus and Civil Claims Duty Counsel Programs, which provide procedural and substantive advice to self-represented litigants.
He also attends Trans Youth ID Clinics organized by Skipping Stone, which assist trans and gender diverse folks with name and gender marker changes on their government issued ID.
