Best Places to Work: Blakes Wins GTA Top Employer Award

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) has been named one of the best places to work in the Toronto area by Greater Toronto’s Top Employers 2022. This is the 11th year that Blakes has received this honour.

Since Blakes last won this award, the Firm has enhanced its commitment to the mental health of all its members, increasing coverage related to psychologists, psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, clinical counsellors and social workers from $3,000 to $5,000 per year. Blakes also launched Blakes Mindset to promote healthy working practices and reduce unnecessary sources of stress over the long term. As part of this initiative, Blakes became the first Canadian-based law firm to sign on to the Mindful Business Charter.

Two new affinity groups, EastAsian@Blakes and SouthAsian@Blakes, have expanded the Firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Led by lawyers of Asian heritage, these groups promote a diverse and inclusive Firm and legal profession, in addition to fostering the career success of their members. They follow in a tradition of such networks at Blakes, including Black@Blakes, Pride@Blakes and Women@Blakes.
