Blakes celebrated International Women’s Day 2018 by lighting the Firm’s offices to show support for advancing women in business.
Our offices in Toronto and Calgary were lit with the female gender symbol as part of the Catalyst Skyline Takeover, which aims to “shine a spotlight” on accelerating the progress for creating an inclusive environment women in business.
Blakes joined one of dozens of major businesses across Canada, the U.S. and South America, who will be supporting Catalyst — a global nonprofit focused on empowering and accelerating women in business — by illuminating our building.
“Progress for women is progress for everyone. This International Women’s Day, we are proud to light up the skyline with Catalyst, as we work together to create a brighter future for women in the workplace,” said Brock Gibson, Chair of Blakes.
The Firm also announced today that it is one of the 10 companies sitting on the new Canadian Private Sector Gender Equality Leadership Project, and recently launched Relaunch, an initiative focused on reintegrating highly talented women lawyers into the workforce.
