About Deborah

Deborah has a broad civil litigation and dispute resolution practice. She has experience in a variety of areas, including complex contractual disputes, arbitration, class actions and judicial review.

Deborah has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and arbitral tribunals.

Prior to joining Blakes, Deborah clerked for several justices at the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

  • Part of various counsel teams for leading multinational manufacturers and distributors of medical devices, pharmaceutical medicines and equipment in the defence of product liability class proceedings and individual actions

  • Part of counsel team for Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Ltd., which team successfully defended before the Supreme Court of British Columbia a judicial review of a decision by the regulator to allow construction to begin on the PRGT Project

  • Arbitration counsel to a multinational mining company in a royalty dispute

  • Arbitration counsel to a company defending a claim from former aggrieved shareholders regarding breach of contract, conspiracy and misrepresentation

Professional Activities

Deborah is a member of the Canadian Bar Association. She is also committed to providing pro bono legal advice through Access Pro Bono.
