Representing as lead counsel or as a part of the Blakes Financial Services group on the following matters:

  • Lenders in the establishment of, and ongoing advisory services for, syndicated credit facilities for Baytex Energy Ltd. and Athabasca Oil Corporation

  • Lenders financing the Sturgeon County oil refinery being developed by North West Redwater Partnership

  • Agrium Inc. on a number of its domestic and international financings including its US$2.5-billion syndicated global facility

  • Canadian counsel to the lenders financing the Vantage Pipeline project

  • Canadian counsel to the lenders financing the Winsway/Marubeni acquisition of Grande Cache Coal

  • Lenders in the financing of Stuart Olson Inc.'s acquisition of Seacliff Construction Corp.

  • Numerous large, mid-market and smaller syndicated and non-syndicated credit facilities led by Canadian banks ranging in size from C$5-million to C$1-billion

  • TC Energy in connection with issuance (on a limited recourse basis) by Northern Courier Limited Partnership of C$1.0-billion senior secured notes and establishment of a C$70-million operating credit facility
