About Léa

Léa advises borrowers, banks, financial institutions and asset managers on a wide range of finance transactions, including project financing in the energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as acquisition and corporate financing.

Prior to joining Blakes, Léa worked as a project finance lawyer in the Seattle office of a U.S. law firm, with a focus on renewable energy transactions. She has been involved in acquiring, developing and financing several gigawatts of solar, wind, storage and other energy projects in the U.S. and Canada.

Léa also has experience with joint ventures, public-private partnerships and other complex project transactions across a spectrum of asset classes.

Léa is fluent in English and French.

Select Experience

Recent representative transactions include advising:

  • A developer in connection with the build-own-transfer, debt and tax equity financing, and sale of approximately 600 MW in wind-generation facilities to an investor-owned utility

  • A bank on the financing of multiple solar and solar-plus-storage project portfolios across the U.S.

  • An asset manager, acting as administrative agent and lender, on a syndicated corporate debt financing in support of renewable energy development activities

  • A publicly traded company with the refinancing of its corporate debt, totalling over US$1-billion

  • A bank on the debt restructuring of a borrower in the transportation industry

  • An alternative lender on the financing of a foreign telecommunications infrastructure provider
