About Madeleine

Madeleine's practice focuses on all areas of labour and employment law. She has experience in a variety of areas relating to the employment relationship, including wrongful and constructive dismissal claims, employment standards disputes and compliance, human rights complaints, labour relations, occupational health and safety, as well as attending conciliations, mediations and pre-trial conferences for such matters. Madeleine regularly assists employers in drafting and implementing employment agreements, workplace policies and termination agreements. She also advises on the employment-related aspects of corporate transactions.

In addition, Madeleine's practice includes privacy and cyber-security, advising employers on matters such as access to information requests, preparing for and responding to privacy and data breaches and compliance with privacy and anti-spam legislation. Madeleine also advises on the privacy-related aspects of corporate transactions.

  • Canadian counsel to Apollo Management Holdings, L.P. on its equity investment in T.D. Williamson Holdings, LLC

  • H.I.G. Capital, LLC on its C$400-million acquisition of 4Refuel Holdings Limited from Finning International Inc.

  • Ovintiv Inc. in its C$3.325-billion acquisition of certain Montney assets from Paramount Resources Ltd.

  • Suncor Energy on its C$1.468-billion acquisition of TotalEnergies EP Canada Ltd., which holds a 31.23% working interest in the Fort Hills oil sands mining project

  • Montrose Environment Group, Inc. in its acquisition of Matrix Solutions Inc.
