About Lindsay

Lindsay's practice involves all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration with an emphasis on complex contract, construction, environmental and energy disputes.

Lindsay regularly acts for clients in matters at all levels of court in Alberta. She also represents clients in regulatory proceedings, including before the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Alberta Securities Commission, and in matters before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Lindsay is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). She regularly advises clients in domestic and international arbitration matters.

Lindsay is a co-chair of the Calgary Student Committee.

Energy and Construction Litigation and Arbitration

  • Arbitration counsel in a number of arbitrations involving the operation of oil and gas facilities

  • Arbitration counsel in arbitrations related to claims of project delays and cost overruns in the construction of energy infrastructure

  • Acted in a dispute related to the operation of a renewable energy facility

  • Litigation counsel for a large Canadian energy company in a dispute related to a pipeline failure and force majeure claims

  • Acted for oil and gas facility owners and contractors in disputes involving delay, acceleration, and lien claims

  • Litigation counsel to a Canadian energy company in a large construction litigation matter arising from a pipeline spill in Manitoba

Commercial Litigation and Arbitration

  • Trial counsel for a major transportation service company in a complex commercial real estate dispute

  • Counsel in litigation and regulatory proceedings related to contaminated site and environmental remediation issues

  • Successfully acted for a client before the Alberta Court of Appeal in a matter involving limitation period issues

  • Litigation counsel in a number of disputes related to the licensing and use of seismic data

  • Acted for a company in the media and events industry in a complex invoice dispute

  • Regularly provides advice about project safety issues
