About Thelma

Thelma practises in all employment and labour law areas, advising employers on a broad spectrum of employment, human rights and regulatory matters, including matters relating to pre-employment and hiring issues, preparation of employment agreements and employment policies, performance management, terminations and wrongful dismissal claims, workplace violence and harassment, accessibility, and occupational health and safety. She also frequently provides employment advice in relation to commercial transactions and commercial litigation matters.

In addition, Thelma is developing an active privacy and cyber-security practice, advising employers on matters such as access to information requests, preparing for and responding to privacy and data breaches, and compliance with privacy and anti-spam legislation.

Prior to joining Blakes, Thelma worked as an associate at another large national law firm and is an alumnus of the United Nations Association-Canada International Development and Diplomacy Internship Programme.
